My name is Chaka Khan Patterson and, yes, my mother was a huge fan of Chaka
Khan, the singer. I was born March 4,1976 in Corpus Christi, Texas. I absolutely love it here.
Currently, I work as a Licensed Vocational Nurse at Spohn Shoerline.
I have always dreamed of being a nurse and now I am living my dream. Being a nurse is one of the most meaningful thing
in my life. Being at work really does not feel like work. At times, I can not believe that I get paid for
doing something that I absolutely loved. This job has brought me so much unexpected joy as well as some heartache. Did
I mention how much I love my job? I am surround by a family of friends. We laugh and have the best time.
I can not forget to mention the greatest joy in my life, my children.
Being a mother has given me a joy that can not be described. After being in labor with horrible pain for three
days, I gave birth to the most beautiful baby girl named Brianna. The love for that little girl was unbelievable.
I never knew that anyone could someone so much until I gave birth to the cutest little boy, whom I named Justin. Each
day I thank God for blessing me with my children.
As mentioned, earlier, I was born in Corpus Christi and I will probably die
here. I love Corpus Christi. I do not have to worry about traffic or if I might me killed while taking a walk
at night. I feel that it is a great place to raise children and there ,somewhat, a night scene.
I have to mention my ex-husband, David Barahona. He is the best ex-husband
a woman can have. He is always there when I need him. We are great friends.
